What can our sign engineering department do for you? Contact Us
This is a sign engineering service using a software application written specifically for designing sign supports and foundations. It was developed by Elrod Engineering as a design aid for an engineer, knowledgeable in structural design, to provide design criteria in a format that allows quick and efficient transfer of design information from the sign engineering department to our computer-aided drafting (CADD) department. This reduces lead times for design and structure drawing creations. We utilize this design tool along with other design software for site specific sign engineering and multi-site programs.
Our computer-aided drafting (Cadd) department utilizes Autodesk's AutoCad, which is a comprehensive CADD software package, to create engineered sign design drawings. We utilize Digital Canal's 'Frame F' which is a Finite-Element analysis software to aid in analyzing our sign engineering and analyzing sign cabinets and structures under certain wind loads, frequencies and dead weight as well. Also, over the years we have created an extensive CADD “library” that contains thousands of construction details for use in creating and expediting design drawings. For Photo-Target tests, Program graphics and color rendering applications, we use Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator, which are two of the industries leading graphics software packages.
